CO-OP AGREE TO EXTEND SPONSORSHIP FOR 2010/11 SEASON
Colwyn Bay Football Club are delighted to announce that The Co-operative Food Retail have agreed to extend their support as the clubs main sponsor for next season (2010/11).

The announcement was made by Chairman Geoff Cartwright at the clubs AGM on Wednesday evening (17th December) where he stated: ”I am delighted to be able to announce that the Cooperative Food Retail have confirmed that they are to continue their Sponsorship of the club for the 2010/11 season which will represent another club record deal for the second consecutive year.”

“Being able to secure the sponsorship from the co-operative is an endorsement of the Colwyn Bay Football Club’s professionalism and commitment to Community Programmes and we are extremely grateful to them for their support.”

In addition to the club sponsorship, the agreement also includes a number of exciting marketing promotions which will aim to boost attendances

David Messom, Director of Trading for Cooperative Food Retail commented:“We are impressed and delighted at the way in which Colwyn Bay Football Club have actively engaged with the local community in the short term that we have sponsored the club.”

“After further discussions with the club with regards to their plans for season 2010/11, we were so impressed and excited about their commercial approach and the club’s community strategy, that we had no hesitation in agreeing to continue our sponsorship and decided to raise the level of support as a way of showing our confidence in the future of Colwyn Bay Football Club.”

“We recognize the mutual benefits that the club, Colwyn Bay “Football In The Community”, The Cooperative Food Retail and more importantly the local community gain from this partnership.”

FUNDRAISING BAGPACKING DAY AT MORRISIONS

Players & coaches from the under 11 and 12’s EPC squads along with members of the management team will be on hand to pack shoppers bags in exchange for a donation towards helping to run the Elite Performance Centre.

We would be very grateful for your support.

YOUNG STRENGTHENS SQUAD AHEAD OF HOME RETURN
Former Chester City youngster Frasier Ablett has agreed terms with Manager Neil Young this evening and is set to complete his paperwork next week after training with the squad recently.

“Frasier is a left sided defender with excellent technical ability and I am hoping once he has adjusted to the league he will be a great addition for us.” said Manager Neil Young.

The Bay look forward to their first home game for just over a month on Saturday and face second from bottom, Rossendale Utd, who were comfortably beaten 4-1 away from home earlier in the season.

“Although Rossendale are second from bottom in the league I don't believe there are any easy games in this league and they are fighting to stay in the league and coming off the back of a good win last week. We have spoken at great lengths with the players this week regarding their concentration and the need to keep their level of performance for the whole game and no just for parts.”

Daniel Grannon will again miss out with a knee injury as will Tom McGill with a nagging knee injury. Neil Black is having a lot of pain in his back and hamstrings and will also miss out but its is hoped that with treatment and some rest he could be back next week.

“With our injuries and Chris Sanna’s suspension the squad is fully stretched but I have full confidence in the players who are available.”

“Little Stars Kick Start” for youngsters under the age of 5
is an entirely new initiative being undertaken by Colwyn Bay Football in the Community (CBFITC).
A programme of sessions are planned to promote an enjoyable and rewarding experience in sport at a young age.

Such a programme will help in developing, high self-esteem and promote a positive attitude to physical activity and health. Physical activity will be used as a medium to develop other areas of personal development for youngsters. Basic motor skills will be gained, together with enhanced emotional, personal and social skill development.  The sessions will be 45 minutes long and will be carried out indoors at the Clubhouse at Llanelian Road.

Chris Whitley assisted by an experienced former Head of an Infant Unit will conduct the sessions.

We will be running a further 2 pilot sessions over the month of December on the 10th and 17th from 5.30pm to 6.15pm. If successful we will look to run it in the New Year.
