WREXHAM MIDFIELDER SET TO JOIN ON-LOAN
Colwyn Bay are set to complete the signing of Wrexham’s talented 18 year-old, former Wales Under-17 International, Matty Hurdman, on a months loan.

It is hoped that the paperwork will be processed in time in order to allow Hurdman to be eligible for tonight’s home game against Prescot Cables (7.45pm). Injuries to key midfielders Jimmy Kelly & Carl Clampitt in addition to Steve Aspinall being unavailable (away on honeymoon) have left manager Neil Young short of cover in midfield.

Hurdman spent a period on loan to Prestatyn last season before being recalled by Wrexham in March after scoring twice in nine appearances for the Seasiders.

VICE PRESIDENT PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PLANS
On a recent trip over to the UK from his home in Florida, the clubs Vice-President, Dr. David Williams, pledged his support for the clubs youth development programme and is pictured handing over a cheque for £750.00 to club Chairman Geoff Cartwright, on behalf of his company Florida Economics.

The presentation took place ahead of the FC United pre-season friendly match.

Also for the match, David’s children Gareth and Gwyneth were both mascots for the day and witnessed an entertaining game which ended in a 1-1 draw in a first ever meeting between the two clubs.

A further announcement is expected to be made shortly with regards the clubs plans for its youth development programme, headed by Chris Whitley, but we can confirm that talks have already taken place with a number of premiership clubs who are keen to establish links and assist in our development plans. More details will be announced shortly.

POWLSONS EXTEND PROGRAMME SPONSORSHIP DEAL
Colwyn Bay Football Club are delighted to announce that a new deal has been agreed with Powlsons of Colwyn Bay to continue to sponsor the clubs matchday programme. As part of the agreement the Powlsons web address will feature on the back of the team’s home and away shirts for this season. Powlsons General Manager John Jones was presented with the brand new home team shirt bearing “Powlsons.co.uk” before Saturday’s home game against FC Halifax.

Managing Director Darren Cartwright commented “Powlsons have been a great supporter of the club over the past few seasons, providing us with a top quality matchday programme for every game. We are delighted that they have agreed to continue their sponsorship of the programme along with providing us with a range of other printing & marketing services. I would like to thank all of the management team and staff at Powlsons for their continuing support of the club.”

John Jones, Powlsons General Manager says “Powlsons has always been a great supporter of local organisations, and our commitment to Colwyn Bay Football Club for a further season is an excellent opportunity for both Powlsons and CBFC in strengthening our working relationship. The new layout design this season provides fans with more information about the teams being played that day, our design and digital printing departments utilising the companies investment in the latest printing technology. The match day programme is a credit to all my staff who work hard to get the programme ready for each game using up-to-date news from the clubs contributors and editors.”

Powlsons are Colwyn Bay's longest established design and print company and next year will be celebrating their 120 years in business in Colwyn Bay, never standing still, always building on success to provided high quality print and design for local business.

COUNTDOWN TO OPENER BEGINS AS HOLSGROVE SIGNS!
Manager Neil Young has this evening sealed the signing of striker Kevin Holsgrove who signed on the dotted line after tonight’s squad training session. Holsgrove has been one of the star performers during pre-season scoring 3 goals in 4 appearances and was subject of a great deal of interest from supporters.

Neil Young comments: “Kevin has been a player that we have been trying to sign for most of the pre-season. He has showed in the games he has played for us already that he will be an excellent addition to the squad and I think we will see the best of him in the coming months and it almost completes our squad going into the new season, as we are still working hard to bring another defender in.”

Another squad update will be given after the final training session ahead of this weekend’s season opener against FC Halifax.
