Season Ticket and Matchday Prices for 2009-10
Colwyn Bay Football Club is pleased to announce its season ticket and admission pricing structure for the 2009-10 season.

Following a review of last seasons pricing structure it has been decided to increase the match day entrance fee for adults to £7, which will bring the club in-line with a number of Unibond First Division Clubs. This decision has been made in order to help generate the additional revenue that will be required to provide a competitive team budget for the manager and therefore help aide the clubs promotion ambitions. However, as an added incentive, Adult season ticket prices have been calculated at last years rate of £6 per game, providing even better value.

In order to encourage new supporters to Llanelian Road we will also be continuing the popular “Kids for Free” scheme, in addition to the special student rate that was introduced last season.

Following the release of the constitution of the league by the FA there will also be an additional home league game this season and season ticket prices have been adjusted accordingly.

Supporters taking up Club Membership will also be entitled to 10% off the price of their season ticket in addition to a number of money saving benefits and special offers. Season tickets and Membership can be applied for on the same form which is downloadable below.

SOX TESTIMONIAL GAME ANNOUNCED
Colwyn Bay Football Club are delighted to announce that the pre-season friendly match against TNS on 1st August (KO 3pm) has been chosen as the benefit game for long-serving physio Colin “Sox” Edwards.

TNS were the visitors to Llanelian Road during last pre-season in what turned out to be a very entertaining match. The superior fitness levels and quality play of full-time TNS helped them run out 4-1 winners in the end and Colwyn Bay will be looking to improve on that score line this time around.

Colin, who recently stepped down from the physio role after 10 years dedicated service, deserves a healthy turn out for his testimonial match so please make an effort to support this event.

Entrance on the day will be £5 Adults, £3 Concessions with children at £1. Season ticket holders will be invited to make a donation.

YOUNG CLINCHES MIDFIELD SIGNINGS
Neil Young has boosted the midfield options for next season by securing the services of 23 year-old Cammell Laird playmaker Carl Clampitt. Carl Started his career at Tranmere, Liverpool & Preston before a cruciate ligament injury prevented him from signing a professional contract.

Another injury then scuppered a move to Scottish Premier League side Hearts before signing for Cammell Lairds. Carl was then loaned out to Shewsbury before a short spell with then Conference North side Barrow in the summer of 2006 led to him being signed by Rhyl. He left Rhyl at the beginning of December 2006 and returned to Cammell Laird.

Carl is described as a competitive footballer with good passing ability who turned in a number of impressive displays for Lairds in the UniBond Premier league last season.

Neil Young commented: “Carl is the type of player we have been looking for since I came to the club; he is good on the ball and will help make the rest of the team play.”

Further good news is that another member of last season’s squad, the experienced midfielder/defender Steve Aspinall, has also agreed to commit for next season. Azza, who wore the captain’s armband on a number of occasions, scored 8 goals last season which included some memorable long range efforts and free-kicks.

Further talks are planned this week with a number of players and the website will be updated once further signings are confirmed.

Season ticket and entrance prices for next season are also due to be announced shortly.

SHEEHAN JOINS FROM LAIRDS
Colwyn Bay FC manager Neil Young has signed Cammell Laird defender Anthony Sheehan.

Anthony can also play in midfield and is described as a good organizer who can also pack a great shot when in front of goal.

Neil Young commented on the signing “Anthony played for me at Poulton Victoria and then moved to Cammell Lairds where he played a big part in Ian Doran’s sides successful climb up the non-league pyramid. He is predominantly a right back but can also play in midfield and will bring with him the experience of having played at a higher level, aggression, energy and hard-work and will be an excellent addition to the team”

SANNA: IM ENJOYING MY FOOTBALL AGAIN
Goalkeeper Chris Sanna, who last weekend signed a contract for next season, has spoken about his reasons for committing to the Bay for the upcoming season.

“After a few bad experiences at previous clubs I had pretty much decided I was going to give last season a miss and decide on next season when it came round to it, so initially I joined to help the team out whilst they got sorted out with a regular keeper.”

“I have always previously enjoyed my time here and felt that especially after all the help I received when getting injured away at Durham at the start of the season it was the least I could do.  We then went on a great run of form and I really began to enjoy my football for the first time in a few years and wanted to be a part of the team.  Although it’s always easy to enjoy it when you’re winning, the superb atmosphere around the club with the players, management, supporters & officials made me want to stay.”

“I have had other options available which would have been a bit more financially beneficial and at a higher level of football but the most important thing to me is that I enjoy my football and I have definitely done that here and I do believe we have the opportunity to progress this season.”

Chris was superb for the Bay last season and was even given a standing ovation from a 600+ crowd when sent off at home against Durham such was his performance. The club suffered an astonishing amount of injuries to goalkeepers with no less then 8 different players having to take their place between the sticks during the course of the season - surely a future Colwyn Bay FC trivia question!!!

Chris represented Wales at Youth level and has also been at Stoke City, Worcester City & Halesowen and last summer tuned down the offer of a professional contract at Chester City before signing for Colwyn Bay.
