29-04-08: BOARD STATEMENT
Following the final game of the season an emergency board meeting was held. The board was disappointed that in spite of the increased playing budget made available this season that the team did not achieve promotion. As a result it was decided that it was in the best interests of the club to relieve Gary Finley of his duties as First Team Manager with immediate effect. The board wishes to thank Gary for his efforts and wish him well for the future. The club will be conducting a full review of its first team playing structure in order to ensure that every opportunity is made to achieve success on the field.

10-04-08: PITCH EXPERTS CALLED IN
In a bid to address the number of games called off due to waterlogging Colwyn Bay FC officials today met with sports pitch maintenance experts ALS. Managing Director Darren Cartwright commented “Despite the best efforts of our Groundsman, who has worked with limited resources, it has come to the point where the pitch will need to undergo some heavy maintenance at the end of the season in a bid to bring it up to a much higher standard and therefore help us to avoid the match cancellations that we have had to endure this season and the subsequent fixture pile up. We are very confident that with the expert advice that we have taken along with the continuing support of our partners Greenthumb that we will achieve this. With the lack of quality grass pitches in the area we will also be looking to be in a position where we can also offer the use of the pitch out to the community on a more regular basis.” |
